Going in a New Direction!!!!

 I have been a model for a while now, and it hasn't been easy at all. Of course nothing in life is ever easy... You have to work for it and work Hard!!!! Being a Model for me has been a Bumpy road.... a really Bumpy road!!! I have been trying to figure out in the past couple of years what the right direction and path for me should be... Runway, High Fashion, Print... I haven't really been sure to be honest! I have been doing a lot of Runway lately, but I have come to the realization and conclusion that I should try to do something else and see where it takes me. I have been constantly exploring the possibilities of Going in a New Direction and continuing to go after my dream, but in a different market. As a Model there are endless opportunities, and I want to see what those other options are. I love Runway and High Fashion, but feel like I haven't really been able to truly fit in. I have constantly been over looked and declined and have been feeling like that side of modeling is just really not for me. Moving on to a new market, going back to the drawing board of Branding myself is what I am currently doing. This is also part of my break to really figure things out. I want whats best for me, and I want to really use my talents!! It's time to look into the Commercial Print and Lifestyle side of things. I want to Grow and Expand, and maybe I should have thought of this a long time ago....Maybe this is why I haven't been Signed yet. I may have been looking in the "Wrong" market! I am excited to try something new and different!!!! Here we go....

January Photo shoot!!!!

It's a New Year, which means New work for my Portfolio!!! I have changed my hair color a lot in 2014, so all of my photos in my portfolio are considered "OLD"... My face is still the same though (Just say'n), But anyway I am excited because I have scheduled a couple of shoots this month!!! Last Weekend I did my first January Photo shoot!!!! It was a Group Shoot. There were about 40 photographers, 5 models and it was raining (it was a very interesting day). We were styled and had make up and hair done, then went to the shoot Location, which was The Silo at Makers Quarter. Usually with group shoots it makes me a little nervous, because there are so many people... a million voices telling you to move this way, look that way, point your toe, ect, ect... it can get a little out of hand, but this shoot was very organized and each model was assigned to a group of about 10 photographers at a time and then there were 5 rotations so every model was able to work with everyone. The photographers seemed to have a system down with in their groups and all worked pretty well together. Most of the photographers were from the San Diego Area, but some did travel down from Los Angeles.

It was a different experience doing a shoot in the Rain (it didn't rain the whole time), but I had a good time. I got a little tired towards the end of the shoot... and I think the photographers did too, the shoot started around 2pm and ended as the sun started to go down.

December Photo Shoot!!!!!

I haven't really been doing many photo shoots lately... there's not really any reason in particular, I just haven't been getting Booked for shoots. That can go in to a whole different conversation (Not what this post is about)... Anyway I'm excited , because I finally had the opportunity to do a December Photo Shoot!!!! A photographer that I worked with before several months ago (Norang Photography) put a shoot together and asked me to be a model for it. It was in a Group Shoot setting... and I was a little bit worried about it at first, because I have done group shoots before, and I didn't get really great photos from it. This shoot was totally different then I expected and all of the photographers had some level of experience and were not Amateurs, so that made me feel better. There were about 7 photographers and they all were able to get something different from me, which I loved!!! I had a really great time!!!!

This was the first shoot that I have done since I have had this Hair Color.... Lol I have had so many hair colors this year. What can I say I like change :). 

I would Love to do more shoots soon!!! :) True I am going to be taking some what of a "Model Break" in 2015, but my "Break" will be consisting of doing more development on myself. I don't really feel like I have been doing much development this past year and have kind of veered off in a direction where I have kind of lost myself and have lost where I want my career to go. It is time to get back on track and get SIGNED!!!!! I know I have what it takes to be a Signed and Represented Model, and I feel like people don't really pay attention to my talent and really see that I have A LOT to offer. I have worked so hard and sometimes it just feels good to know that I am doing a great job, and that I am good at what I do. I know it will come around full Circle one day. I love what I do, and I will continue on this Journey to live out my Dreams!!!! :)

Fun at Presidio Park!!!!!

This week I did a shoot to add some new photos to my portfolio. I really wanted to do something different, because I felt like my shoots lately have been very serious and I have done a lot of Swim wear (I love Swim, but it was time for a change). It was time to put some clothes on and have fun!!!! Fun and Flirty was the theme I went with, and I got some great photos to add to my forever changing portfolio.

I styled everything myself and kept everything pretty light and summery.

I worked with Mike Menegus Photography, and he was such a joy to work with. I have never laughed so much during a shoot!! He has jokes for days and really loves and enjoys being a photographer.

We shot at Presidio Park, which I had never been to before, but I have passed it a million times. It is a huge park, with great scenery and great for taking photos.

Walk N Express Horse Ranch Photo Shoot

Last weekend on June 29, I (@supa_start) had the opportunity to model in a shoot with some great people in an interesting location. Dynamite Editorials and stylist TNT Tauna put together a group photo shoot at a beautiful house with a horse ranch in Wildomar, Ca. The photos from the photo shoot will be pitched to different magazines, blogs, etc for publishing. That is an awesome opportunity for both photographers and models to be recognized for their work. I was excited and interested in being in the shoot, because it was something new and different from anything that I had done before. There were 8 models total, and we were all paired with a stylist and makeup artist, who worked with us through the entire shoot. There were 8 - 10 photographers (some had assistants) that shot with several different models for each of their looks, so there was quite a bit of variety. The shoot as a whole was filled with food, fun and plenty of Water!!!! It was an extremely HOT day. 

Everything at the shoot was very organized. As soon as everyone arrived, we all signed in and signed releases, then the day began with Wardrobe fittings.TNT Tauna organized and pulled looks for the shoot, there were several clothing designers (Deepa Gurnani, Day by day, Norma, Mike Vensel and CXC by Camila X Castillo, just to name a few), accessory designers ( 31Bits, Style Queen, Pop Molly, Sorial, and She Blames Me, plus many more…), and some of the stylist contributed some of their own items as well. All of the stylist picked a model and a theme, then pulled looks based on that theme. All of the models had 4 - 6 looks each, and at first it was a little hard to get some of the looks together, because some of the pieces were very popular and all of the stylist wanted to use some of the same things for their model, so there was a lot of sharing and swapping throughout the shoot.

After wardrobe began, Hair and make up and lunch came after. Photographers began to arrive as well, and then the shooting began. It was so HOT outside, that we all shot in about 20 minuet windows, and took several breaks in between each look. Thank goodness there was plenty of water and refreshing treats, everyone made sure to stay hydrated. The shoot started at around 3 pm and finished at Sunset.

Overall, I had a lot of fun. This was one of the best group shoot experiences that I have ever had (I have done quite a few). Dynamite Editorials definitely brought together a fun group, and everyone seem to work well together. I would love to have the opportunity to work with them again, they are doing something great for everyone who is contributing, and I see amazing things coming their way. I look forward to the future and being part of another photo shoot with them again soon.
